ICRISAT Governing Board decision of intention to join the One CGIAR

During the 106th ICRISAT Governing Board meeting held from the 24th to the 27th April 2023 at ICRISAT’s headquarters in Patancheru, India, the Board revisited its earlier decision and declared its intention to join the One CGIAR system.

The ICRISAT Governing Board members expressed their appreciation for the discussions with the Chair of the CGIAR System Board, some members of the Systems Council, and Chairs of other CGIAR Centers, which helped them to better understand the recent evolution in the organization and management of the One CGIAR.

The Board also acknowledged the further changes that could result from the ongoing Unified Governance Review, which meet key concerns held by the Governing Board in 2021.

The Board also benefited from discussions with ICRISAT staff and the Institute's Host Country Partners.

The Board believes that ICRISAT while maintaining its independent brand as the global leader in dryland crops and food systems research, will be an integral member of the One CGIAR family.

The ICRISAT Governing Board declared its intention to join the One CGIAR and authorized the Board Chair and Director General to take the necessary steps to move the process forward, including the signing of the CGIAR Integration Framework Agreement (IFA).

ICRISAT looks forward to being a part of the continuing evolution of One CGIAR and contributing its deep expertise toward addressing the challenges of dryland agri-food systems.
